Water QUALITY MONITORING
Water quality monitoring and analysis are fundamental to understanding the health of a particular water body. Human activities have the potential to adversely affect water quality, as well as aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, drinking water supplies and recreational use of waterways.
To address this, our highly sensitive water quality probes enable up to 12 different filed parameters to be measured instantly in the field. Consequently, this allows for swift on-site assessment and immediate action when necessary. We also prepare Water Framework Directive Compliance Assessments for various types of developments across Ireland.
Throughout Ireland in accordance with ISO 5667-1:2003 and as recommended by the EPA, EcoQuest Environmental undertake water quality monitoring of:
- surface waters,
- storm waters and
- wastewaters etc.
On a wide range of physical and chemical parameters, we conduct field analysis of:
- rivers,
- lakes,
- seawater,
- storm water

Water Quality reports
Sampling and analysis plans are carefully prepared before each water quality monitoring round is completed. Detailed calibration checks of all equipment are carried out prior to and during each sampling event.

Field analyses may include parameters such as:
- turbidity
- pH/mV
- ORP
- conductivity
- TDS
- resistivity
- salinity
- seawater density
- dissolved oxygen (DO)
- atmospheric pressure
- temperature
The reports also contain a comprehensive analysis on the significance of the results relative to the adopted screening criteria. In addition, clients may simply be provided with the laboratory certificate of analysis and field results for their own interpretation.
